PACE Enterprises is seeking a Shredding Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Secure Document Destruction (SDD) program. This role provides leadership, training, and support to Customer Service Representatives, Technicians, and vocational program participants who receive hands-on job training through the shredding operation.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance operational excellence, customer service, and employee development while fostering an inclusive environment that supports individuals with intellectual, developmental, physical, and other disabilities in achieving vocational success.
- Supervise and support Customer Service Representatives, Technicians, and vocational training participants.
- Develop work schedules, assignments, and operational workflows to meet service and training goals.
- Plan, organize, and direct daily shredding operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and quality service delivery.
- Foster a positive, productive, and inclusive work environment.
- Maintain open communication with staff, customers, and leadership to ensure operational success.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and work adjustment support to vocational program participants.
- Deliver on-the-job training focused on workplace skills, safety, productivity, and professional development.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive work environment that promotes participant success and independence.
- Collaborate with vocational services staff to support individual training goals and employment outcomes.
- Monitor participant progress and provide feedback, documentation, and performance support as needed.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer service concerns and service-related inquiries.
- Maintain strong communication between customers and the organization to ensure exceptional service.
- Ensure high levels of service quality, confidentiality, and security.
- Coordinate shredding services through EZShred and issue Certificates of Destruction.
- Review and improve policies, procedures, and workflows to maintain operational excellence and compliance.
- Manage inventory and purchase necessary supplies and materials.
- Schedule equipment maintenance and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Maintain OSHA-compliant safety standards and a clean work environment.
- Complete and maintain required forklift operation certifications and safety training.
- Enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, including timekeeping, training documentation, action plans, and safety records.
- Develop and implement procedures to ensure secure document destruction standards are met.
- Safeguard confidential information and uphold security protocols.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education in business, operations management, logistics, human services, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a service, logistics, manufacturing, operations, warehouse, or customer-focused environment.
- Strong customer service and employee relations skills.
- Knowledge of inventory control, shipping and receiving, procurement, and equipment operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and internet-based systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly, provide constructive direction, and motivate individuals with varying skill levels.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and implement security procedures.
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCM), and other required certifications.
- Experience supervising, training, mentoring, or supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, physical, or behavioral disabilities.
- Experience working in vocational rehabilitation, workforce development, human services, nonprofit organizations, manufacturing, or logistics environments.
- Knowledge of supported employment or vocational training programs.
- Experience operating or supervising equipment maintenance and transportation operations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide positive coaching, instruction, and employee development.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate equipment and work in an active production environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and stakeholders.
- Work is performed in both office and production settings.
- Regular exposure to equipment, machinery, dust, and moderate noise levels.
- Frequent interaction with employees, vocational program participants, customers, and community partners.
