MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS LACROSSE – ASSISTANT COACH
Pace Academy, an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Georgia, with an enrollment of 1,150 students in pre-first through twelfth grades, has an opening for 2024-25.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Athletics
Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach
WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:
A part-time, February to May seasonal appointment. Responsibilities include practices and games (between 2-3 hours per commitment) on Monday-Friday and Saturday games. All coaches are employed on an annual basis and continued employment is based on a seasonal review conducted by the Director of Athletics/Varsity boys lacrosse head coach.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with the Middle School head boys lacrosse coach, the Middle School assistant boys lacrosse coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the boys lacrosse program. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Pace Academy and, as needed, Georgia High School Athletics (GHSA).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
•Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Pace Academy
•Candidate must have experience coaching and a good understanding of how to work with Grade 6, 7 & 8 student-athletes;
•A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept;
•Effective leadership and coaching;
•Good communication skills with players, parents, and the Athletics Department;
•Energetic, self-motivated, flexible, punctual, dependable, and a team player.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Team coaching with the coaching staff on a daily basis;
•Drive players to/from games, as needed;
•Represent Pace Academy and the boys' lacrosse program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship.
This is an exempt position that is paid a coaching stipend over the duration of the season
