Job Functions / Responsibilities
Interpret and apply new engine performance specifications to end-of-line hot test for new engine programs
Create and maintain project schedules and budgets for new product introduction to end-of-line hot test
Specify new equipment and other resources for end-of-line test prior to new product launch
Implement process changes on time and in budget for new product launch
Implement test equipment changes by managing order specification, engineering design, and acceptance testing from 3rd party vendors.
Lead and participate in multiple simultaneous engineering efforts for new product development projects
Assist process engineers with documenting manufacturing processes for new product: SOPs, PFMEAs, control plans, layout studies, cycle time analyses, financial analyses
Qualifications & Skills
Required
B.S. Degree in Engineering (Prefer Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing)
1-2 years experience in automotive manufacturing or related field
Extensive experience with software program language
Experience with Visual Management/Project Management Tools
Proven problem-solving skills
Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills
Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and influence others
Ability to work within deadlines to achieve goals
Desired
3-5 years experience in powertrain manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, or new product launch
Experience with FEV Test Cell Manager and/or Morphee Software
Understanding of diesel engine function and application
Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
Experience in a simultaneous engineering style project environment
