PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector
Requisition Summary
The Disaster Recovery Analyst assists in developing, implementing and maintaining policies, procedures, and programs for ensuring the security and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology. The individual in the role: Coordinates, tests, and administers disaster recovery and resumption plans. Supports Disaster Recovery Senior Management in assuring that all of PACCAR’s Corporate Data Center systems are recoverable in case of a disaster. Reviews and implements planning documents, policies, and procedures and advises recovery teams. Delivers DR program awareness sessions to various levels across the organization. Serves as an advisor to other department members. Assists with ensuring Disaster Recovery considerations are part of all of PACCAR Information Systems. Assists with development of annual capital and operating budget.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Following Agile SCRUM methodologies to deliver features to customer’s Disaster Recovery solution to significantly improve time to recovery
Contribute to development of prioritized future roadmap for remaining backlog required to complete automation of the application suite
Facilitate the execution of business impact analysis and risk assessment. Analyze and interpret results to inform planning, mitigation, and response strategies
Further develop the Disaster Recovery Strategy
Track program to the Disaster Recovery roadmap
Ensure Disaster Recovery plan, Business Continuity Plan, and BIA are maintained
Prepare Economic Evaluation Analysis (EEA) requests to align with roadmaps
Manage Disaster Recovery projects as approved
Prepare and present reports outlining status of plan reviews and corrective actions to remediate items identified during internal audit reviews
Develop and run the Disaster Recovery testing activities
Provide advisory support during DR test and contribute to remediation plan development for corrective actions based on lessons-learned from the DR tests
Ensure Disaster Recovery plans for all sites are complete and executable
Establish and maintain training program for Disaster Recovery
Qualifications
3 years of experience running a Disaster Recovery program.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to influence others.
Ability to present to all levels of management.
Strong organizational skills.
Working knowledge of disaster & network recovery methodology and practices.
Understanding of the Role Disaster Recovery plays in Business Continuity planning.
Proven history of conducting a Business Impact Analysis.
Proven technical knowledge of system architectures and recovery requirements of information systems and processes, specifically replication technologies and virtualized environments.
Knowledge of risk management issues and practices.
Proven ability to identify, develop, and implement infrastructure required for comprehensive disaster planning, including high availability.
Highly analytical and able to understand business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Travel to other local PACCAR locations and tape backup facilities required. Minimal travel outside the Puget Sound area may be needed.
Education
Undergraduate Degree in related area and 3 years’ experience required
Disaster Recovery certification or equivalent work experience with a goal to obtain DR certification within 18 months of hire
