Position: Director of Event Operations
Reports to: General Manager
Overview:
PTG Live Events, LLC, more commonly known as The Pabst Theater Group, is a multi-faceted entertainment organization that hosts over 600 live events annually across six venues in downtown Milwaukee: Pabst Theater, Riverside Theater, Turner Hall Ballroom, Miller High Life Theater, Vivarium, and The Fitzgerald. The Pabst Theater Group is dedicated to providing top notch hospitality to world-class artists and patrons alike.
Responsibilities for this position include overseeing the Event Operations Department, working with artist touring management, and organizing logistics in order to ensure proper execution of events. Work with other department leaders and management to ensure best practices are utilized.
The ideal candidate for this position will be an efficient communicator and leader with the energy and professionalism to handle any situation our business inherently encounters. Event management or operations experience is helpful, but is not a must for the position. Project management, people management, and logistics experience preferred.
Hours for this position include a mix of traditional daytime office hours and nighttime show hours.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Overseeing management of Event Operations Department
- Direct report to Assistant Events Manager and House Managers
- Management and implementation of policy and training for Event Operations Department employees
- Complete assigned nightly artist settlements
- Hiring and management of third-party security vendor
- Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the Event Operations Department
- Work closely with Human Resources Manager to design and implement training programs
- Collaborate with VIP and Group Sales Coordinator to implement efficient VIP operations
Qualifications:
- Experience managing employees
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in relevant field preferred
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer skills including Google docs, Microsoft Excel & Word
- Knowledge and interest in popular culture and live entertainment
- Other general qualities would include strong work ethic and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation for this position would be commensurate with other entry level salaries in the industry and would also include health, dental and vision insurance benefits, participation in company 401k program, participation in company bonus program.
