Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. This position involves assisting clients in their daily activities, promoting independence, and enhancing their quality of life. The DSP works closely with clients to ensure their physical, emotional, and social well-being in various settings, including home health environments, and Community environments. Part Time 2 days a week 10.5 hours a week, No Fridays
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Follow ISP
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs to facilitate community involvement.
- Observe and document client behavior, progress, and any significant changes in health status.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to provide comprehensive support.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to hospice care and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is essential.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality of client information.
- Previous experience as a DSP
- Understanding principles to effectively support clients with cognitive impairments.
