Position Overview
The General Education Department is seeking qualified Adjunct Instructors to teach undergraduate General Education courses across multiple modalities, including online, hybrid, and face-to-face (f2f).
Successful candidates will be committed to high quality instruction, inclusive pedagogy, and the effective support of diverse student populations, including first generation students, adult learners, multilingual students, and students from historically underrepresented backgrounds.

Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach General Education courses in online, hybrid, and/or face-to-face (f2f) formats as assigned.
- Deliver inclusive, student-centered instruction that supports a diverse learner population.
- Integrate and assess Institutional Student Learning Outcomes (ISLOs) within course activities, assignments, and engagement strategies.
- Provide timely and meaningful feedback to promote student learning, growth, and persistence.
- Maintain accurate records and communication in accordance with institutional policies.
- Participate in required training, meetings, and assessment activities.
- (Optional SME Work) Collaborate on course builds, revisions, and content evaluation.
- Engage in tutoring.
- Update attendance on a daily basis
Assessment of Learning Outcomes
- Assess learning objectives of the program of study based upon the Annual Assessment of Student Learning Plan.
Accreditation and Compliance
- Support activities that ensure compliance of accreditation rules, regulations, and mandates.
- Comply with all policies and requirements of the College as set forth in the Faculty Handbook.
- Ensure all safety rules are posted and followed in lab areas.
- Ensure that all activities are conducted in an ethical and legal manner.
- Identify and implement best practices to demonstrate Standards of Excellence as defined by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
- Maintain the highest level of integrity in all academic matters.
- Provide support on Middle States Commission on Higher Education committees.
- Support the strategic goals of the College.
Minimum Qualifications
- College-level teaching experience (online and/or f2f; online preferred).
- Demonstrated expertise in relevant subject area(s).
- Commitment to teaching and supporting diverse student populations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive pedagogy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field; degree preferred for certain disciplines.
- Experience teaching or integrating Institutional Student Learning Outcomes (ISLOs) into curriculum.
- Curriculum development or course design experience in higher education.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, D2L).
- Experience with digital literacy, generative AI, or instructional technology tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with instructional designers and project teams.
