PA Flax Project is a worker-owned cooperative with a mission to build long term relationships with farmers to grow fiber flax, create mill infrastructure for processing flax into spinnable fiber and co-products, as well as bring these products to market. With environmental responsibility, and economic and social justice as our guiding principles, we will create a regional fiber flax supply chain. We aim to change our region's textile industry and create economic growth that is good for our worker-owners, our community, and the planet.
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Equipment Operator to support daily farm operations across multiple sites. This role is responsible for operating agricultural machinery, assisting with planting and harvesting, and maintaining equipment to ensure safe and efficient farm production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in on-farm training for operations and maintenance of specialized equipment
- Operate a flax harvester and other farm equipment
- Assist with weeding, crop assessment, and harvest operations
- Follow all safety protocols as defined by the PA Flax Project
Qualifications:
- Prior experience operating harvest equipment required
- A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation as needed
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, self-motivated, and safety conscious
