What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer AP History Teacher position at PA College Prep?
Our program cultivates students' natural abilities by offering small classes, individualized learning options, frequent advisement meetings, project-based learning, and interdisciplinary teaching.
We are looking for one part-time History teacher to teach our high school students AP World History and AP US History during our summer camp. This teacher will be positive, confident, and energetic, making a lasting contribution.
Expected qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experience include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, History, or a related field
- 5 Years of Teaching Experience (as an HS School Teacher or Teacher Aide)
- Strong content knowledge in AP World History and/or US History
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Applicants should be energetic and enthusiastic, displaying a high level of tolerance, patience, and support
- Applicants should be comfortable interacting with those of various backgrounds and professional levels, from parents to school administrators.
- Experience working with high school students
- Teaching credential preferred
- Applicants should be flexible, resourceful, and able to communicate well with students and families.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create teaching strategies to engage students and encourage class participation.
- Present lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of AP World or AP US History concepts
- Assign homework and give and grade tests.
- Assess student performance to determine if they are learning at an acceptable level and pace.
- Communicate student concerns or issues to administrators.

Pay
$40 to $70 per hour based on experience
