Role Description The Site Civil Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Charlotte, NC. This position is responsible for supporting the planning, design, and delivery of site development projects, including grading, utilities, roadways, and stormwater systems. Day-to-day tasks include preparing civil engineering plans, performing design calculations, coordinating with survey teams, and assisting with permit applications and regulatory documentation. The role involves collaborating with project managers, clients, and local agencies to ensure designs meet technical standards, budget, and schedule requirements. The Site Civil Engineer will also review construction documents, respond to field questions, and help maintain quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design skills, with the ability to develop site plans, grading, utilities, and stormwater systems.
- Experience working as a Civil Engineer on land development or infrastructure projects, ideally within local or regional jurisdictions.
- Planning and Stormwater Management skills, including familiarity with drainage design, erosion control, and applicable regulations.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design and drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar) and basic surveying concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; EIT certification or PE licensure in progress or achieved is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Charlotte, NC, and occasionally visit project locations as needed.
