Role Overview

Join our team as an IT Programmer at the level that matches your experience—I (Junior), II (Intermediate), or III (Senior/Lead). In this role, you’ll leverage the full suite of Symitar and Alkami programming tools to design, test, and deploy code into production. You’ll enhance applications, generate reports, refine user interfaces, and integrate third-party solutions. For Level III, you’ll also provide leadership and mentorship to junior programmers, oversee project execution, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Core duties for all levels include:

  • Utilize Alkami & Symitar’s programming tools (RepGen, SymForm, SymConnect, PowerFrame, SymXchange, SDKs, APIs) to analyze, develop, test, debug, and implement code.
  • Streamline and maintain code for efficiency and automation.
  • Develop interfaces and integrate third-party applications.
  • Use APIs to connect systems and automate workflows with languages like Python and JavaScript.
  • Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements analysis and documentation.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure SLA compliance.
  • Engage in code reviews, quality assurance testing, and production deployments.

Additional expectations by level:

  • Level I (Junior): Focus on learning, supporting development tasks, and assisting with troubleshooting.
  • Level II (Intermediate): Independently handle complex coding tasks, integrations, and contribute to solution design.
  • Level III (Senior/Lead): Lead projects, mentor team members, review code for quality, and act as a technical resource for strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:

Knowledge and Skills

Experience

  • Required for all levels (I, II, III):
    • Working knowledge of HTML, XML, Java, JavaScript, Python, ASP, .NET, and Visual Basic.
  • Preferred / Progressively Expected:
    • Level I (Junior): Familiarity with and exposure to HTML, XML, Java, JavaScript, Python, ASP, .NET, and Visual Basic, and SQL/basic database concepts.
    • Level II (Intermediate): Hands-on experience with Symitar PowerOn, SymForm PDF, SymXchange development; ability to consume web services (SOAP or RESTful); experience with workload automation tools like SMA Technologies OpCon.
    • Level III (Senior/Lead): Advanced proficiency in Symitar and Alkami tools; strong understanding of Microsoft IIS, web applications, and orchestration; proven ability to lead projects and mentor team members.

Education / Certifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered for Level I; advanced certifications or leadership training preferred for Level III.

Interpersonal Skills

  • All levels require strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Level III: Additional ability to motivate, influence, and guide team members; handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.

Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to regularly perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to plan and direct the work activities of self and others. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
