What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Development Intern position at P1FCU?
Role
The Community Development intern will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Community Development team. They will assist with the planning, organization, execution of events and day to day activities, and will be subject to a multitude of responsibilities and tasks. The intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the behind-the-scenes aspects of event processes, communication, special events management, and community partnerships. Work collaboratively with Community Development team on event planning, execution, and fulfillment of events.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed or scheduled.
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Handle daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of department activities.
- Setup, take down, and work events to facilitate their success.
- Update spreadsheets and inventories.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating events and supplies.
- Completing general tasks, as directed.

Physical Requirements
• Lifting 70-80 pounds (items include misting tent, canopies, coolers, tables, and other miscellaneous equipment) • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, etc.). • Sit for extended periods of time. • Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc. • Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers. • Reach keyboards. • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
Working Conditions
Position Specific Additional Requirements: • Extensive local travel, this is a driving position and a company vehicle is provided • Adequate auto insurance for driving while conducting company business • Maintain a valid driver’s license • Scheduling will revolve around events and other business needs including weekends
