Experienced Automotive Technician / Mechanic
P&M Automotive is hiring an experienced Automotive Technician to join our team in Salem, Oregon.
We are a full-service automotive repair and maintenance facility with more than 50 years in business and a strong local, regional, and national reputation. We are looking for a skilled, dependable technician who takes pride in accurate diagnosis, quality repair work, and being part of a professional team.
This is a full-time, in-person position for a technician with professional automotive repair experience. Qualified technicians can earn $65,000–$100,000 per year, with compensation based on experience, skill level, certifications, and productivity.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair engine performance, drivability, electrical, brake, steering/suspension, HVAC, and general mechanical concerns
- Perform inspections and identify needed maintenance, repairs, and safety concerns
- Complete routine maintenance, including oil services, brakes, alignments, tires, and fluid services
- Use scan tools, lab scopes, wiring diagrams, technical service information, and diagnostic equipment
- Follow proper repair procedures and document work accurately
- Communicate findings clearly and professionally with the team
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional automotive repair experience required
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
- Experience with scan tools, lab scopes, wiring diagrams, and technical repair information
- Solid understanding of powertrain, electrical, braking, steering/suspension, and maintenance systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid Oregon driver’s license with an insurable driving record required
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
ASE certifications are a plus, but not required for the right experienced technician.
