Job Description:
Job Summary:
The HVAC Boiler Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and/or residential boiler systems. This role ensures heating systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair boiler systems, including gas, oil, and steam units
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in heating systems and perform necessary repairs
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance
- Test system controls, safety devices, and components for proper operation
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
- Respond to emergency service calls and perform timely repairs
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors
- Recommend system upgrades or replacements when necessary
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred
- 2 years of experience working with HVAC systems and boilers (commercial experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of boiler systems, piping, and controls
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- EPA certification (if handling refrigerants) preferred
- Boiler operator or stationary engineer license (if required by state/local regulations)
