- Monitor, interpret, and implement federal, state, and local regulations relevant to the company’s operations, including EPA, OSHA, NFPA, API, PEI, state environmental agencies, and building codes.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance across all departments.
- Oversee permitting processes, regulatory filings, inspections, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain compliance documentation, records, and certifications in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure environmental compliance related to fuel systems, hazardous materials, spill prevention, waste management, and storage tanks (UST/AST).
- Work closely with safety, engineering, and field operations teams to manage environmental programs, corrective actions, and risk assessments.
- Lead efforts related to environmental audits, remediation planning, and corrective action programs.
- Support the development and enforcement of companywide safety programs and training requirements.
- Conduct internal compliance audits and prepare the organization for external inspections or regulatory reviews.
- Identify areas of risk, propose mitigation strategies, and oversee corrective action implementation.
- Maintain compliance risk assessments and ensure continuous monitoring of operational activities.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees, supervisors, and field personnel.
- Ensure that staff understand regulatory requirements, safe work practices, and documentation standards.
- Provide coaching and guidance to departments to reinforce a culture of compliance and safety.
- Partner with engineering, field service, project management, sales, and executive teams to evaluate compliance risks and ensure proper adherence throughout project lifecycles.
- Serve as a subject matter expert during project planning, permitting, design reviews, and operational decision-making.
- Advise leadership on regulatory changes and their impact on business operations.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, inspectors, consultants, and environmental partners.
- Represent P.B. Hoidale Co., Inc. during regulatory meetings, hearings, or compliance discussions.
- Maintain strong relationships with key industry groups, associations, and regulatory bodies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Safety, Regulatory Affairs, or related field required.
- 7–10 years of compliance or environmental regulatory experience, preferably within fuel systems, petroleum equipment, construction, industrial services, or environmental engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, NFPA, API, PEI, and state-specific environmental and safety regulations.
- Experience managing audits, regulatory inspections, permitting, or environmental programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to influence, educate, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Relevant certifications such as CESCP, CHMM, CSP, or equivalent are a plus.
- Highly ethical, detail-oriented, and committed to organizational integrity.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to guide teams and shape companywide compliance culture.
