The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at P.B. Hoidale Co., Inc. is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for the financial strategy, health, and long-term fiscal sustainability of the organization. The CFO oversees all finance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and risk management functions to support growth, profitability, and operational excellence.

The CFO provides strategic leadership on financial planning, capital investment, business analytics, and corporate governance while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and maintaining strong internal controls. This role is instrumental in guiding executive decision-making and supporting the company’s mission and long-term strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with the company’s goals and growth initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team on business performance, financial opportunities, and risk.
  • Lead financial modeling, forecasting, and long-range planning to support investment and operational decisions.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve margins, manage costs, and enhance profitability.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, payroll, AP/AR, job costing, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain robust financial controls, audit readiness, and compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Lead annual budgeting processes and manage continuous forecasting.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and audit procedures to protect company assets.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance, tax planning, and coordination with external auditors, banks, and legal advisors.
  • Manage insurance programs, bonding requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.

Cash Management & Treasury

  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, credit lines, and capital allocation.
  • Monitor working capital and ensure healthy liquidity to support operations and project delivery.
  • Evaluate and optimize company financing structures and capital expenditures.

Operational Partnership & Business Support

  • Collaborate with operations, project management, sales, and service teams to provide financial analysis, job costing support, and business insights.
  • Develop dashboard metrics, KPIs, and data analytics tools to improve decision-making across the organization.
  • Support pricing strategies, contract reviews, and margin analysis to maintain competitiveness and profitability.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead the finance and accounting team with a focus on mentorship, performance, and professional development.
  • Build a high-performing department capable of supporting a growing and evolving business environment.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, financial discipline, and continuous improvement.

Strategic Growth & M&A Support

  • Evaluate expansion opportunities, capital projects, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead financial due diligence, valuation modeling, and integration planning for mergers or acquisitions.
  • Support strategic investments in new products, markets, and technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required; MBA, CPA, or CMA strongly preferred.
  • 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or project-based industries.
  • Proven experience overseeing financial operations for a multi-division or multi-location organization.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, job costing, financial controls, and treasury management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • High proficiency with ERP systems, accounting software, and financial reporting tools.
