Pay: $45,000 - $50,000

Summary

The Low Voltage and IT Support Technician supports users by assisting with the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low-voltage systems, IT workstations, and network equipment. This role involves hands-on technical support, cable management, and collaboration with the Helpdesk Team to deploy devices while, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and an interest in IT and networking, this position provides valuable on-the-job learning opportunities.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist with installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low-voltage systems, including IP cameras, structured cabling, AV systems, digital signage, phones, PA systems, and access control
  • Help with physical setup and organization of IT workstations, including computers, monitors, printers, and other peripherals
  • Support the team in installing and troubleshooting network equipment such as switches and firewalls
  • Work alongside the Helpdesk Team to prepare and deploy devices for employees
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and ensure proper cable management during installations
  • Follow safety protocols while working on industrial sites
  • Log tasks and progress in the ticketing system

  • Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position
  • This job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needs

Qualifications

Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record required
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand and power tools

Experience

  • No prior experience required—just a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
  • Interest in IT, networking, or low-voltage work

Skills/Abilities

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong English speaking and reading skills necessary
  • Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions

  • Operates within a professional office environment and industrial sites
  • Routine usage of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets
  • Industrial sites frequently require working outdoor and/or in areas with cement powder
  • Industrial site work may occasionally require working at heights of 20-60’
  • Local travel is required - Occasional out of town travel required

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
  • Required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Must be able to climb cement silo ladders for installations approximately 20-60’ and work at that height
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to operate or learn to operate a lift
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
