Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 4K Lead Teacher to inspire and nurture young learners during their critical early childhood years through the DCF Get Kids Ready Program. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a vibrant, inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, social-emotional development, and foundational skills. As a leader in early childhood education, you will guide a team of educators, implement developmentally appropriate curricula, and foster strong relationships with children and families to support their growth and well-being. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS).
- Lead classroom activities that promote child development in areas such as cognitive skills, social-emotional learning, motor skills, and language acquisition.
- Manage daily classroom operations to ensure a safe, nurturing environment conducive to learning and exploration.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or behavior.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or teaching assistants to ensure high-quality instruction and classroom management.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws, health and safety regulations such as first aid and CPR certifications, and licensing requirements for childcare providers.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, including preschool or daycare environments.
- Strong background in classroom management and child development instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Training in first aid and CPR
- Familiarity with child welfare policies, behavior management techniques, and inclusive teaching practices for diverse learners.
