Position Summary
The Server System Administrator I is an entry level position that manages installation, configuration, and monitoring of PC computers. Other major responsibilities include maintenance of College and client systems, and resolution of network problems.
Essential Job Duties
Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions. Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.

Essential Job Duties
- Coordinate installation of PC computers, Macintosh computers, and server systems (individual, virtual, and clustered).
- Maintain enterprise software installation.
- Implement and coordinate maintenance of operating systems and application updates.
- Assist in performance monitoring and tuning.
- Maintain and update documentation of all technology equipment.
- Implement and maintain backup of College data.
- Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
- Comply with college policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees and attending community events.
- Coordinate with vendor technical support.
- Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning (or two years of equivalent experience and working towards the obtainment of an Associate degree).
- Two years of experience with Operating Systems Management.
- One year of experience in Active Directory environments.
- One year of experience with PowerShell.
- Each applicant will be required to complete a hands-on evaluation.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
- Two years of experience with Microsoft products such as SQL, Exchange, Office 365, and System Center.
- Two years of experience with Windows Server operating systems.
- Two years of experience with Microsoft Visual Studio .Net, scripting languages, and Microsoft C#.
- Experience with Mobile Device Management.
- Experience with macOS/iOS management.
- Experience with Colleague.
- Experience working within a collegiate setting.
