Early Learning Childcare Floater

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Float between classrooms throughout the day to provide support where needed.

·         Check in regularly with Lead and Assistant Teachers to assess classroom needs and assist accordingly.

·         Provide classroom coverage to maintain appropriate licensing ratios and smooth program operations.

·         Support classrooms during high-need times including meals, transitions, rest time, outdoor play, and staff breaks.

·         Assist with supervising children and maintaining a safe, clean, and nurturing environment.

·         Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and program leadership.

·         Adapt quickly to changing schedules, classroom environments, and staffing needs throughout the day.

·         Utilize sound judgment and maintain professionalism while working in fast-paced and high-demand situations.

·         Assist with classroom organization, cleaning, sanitizing, and preparation of materials and activities.

·         Ensure YMCA policies, licensing regulations, and safety procedures are followed at all times.

·         Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and staff.

·         Communicate effectively with staff members and leadership regarding classroom needs, concerns, or incidents.

·         Support children in need and assist with behavior guidance using positive and respectful approaches.

·         Ensure zero tolerance for abuse and actively participate in the protection of youth and teens.

·         Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and program activities.

·         Performs all other duties as assigned.
