We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Licensing and Facilities Supervisor to ensure that all agency facilities meet local, state, and federal regulations related to health, safety, facilities, and licensing compliance. This position plays a vital role in maintaining safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate environments that support the well-being of children, families, and staff.
The Supervisor will collaborate closely with program leadership to uphold high standards of compliance, oversee facility maintenance operations, and support continuous improvement in all areas of facility safety and quality. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective leadership abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence in support of the agency’s mission and vision.
This position follows a 10.5-month work schedule, with furlough during the summer break.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of experience in facility operations, safety, or licensing compliance, preferably within a Head Start, childcare, or nonprofit setting.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Early Childhood Administration, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred.
- Experience and ability to supervise effectively and efficiently following the latest management practices, providing leadership and modeling professional behaviors and values.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, state childcare licensing regulations, and OSHA safety requirements preferred.
- Experience supervising staff or contractors.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrates sound decision-making skills in areas of personnel management, safety, budgeting, and facility operations.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and with team members to accomplish tasks and resolve problems.
- Displays good collaboration skills; able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management, vendors, other employees and the public.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management tools.
Conditions of Employment:

Responsibilities:
Licensing and Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure all program sites maintain full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, state childcare licensing regulations, and local safety and sanitation codes.
- Maintain accurate and current documentation for childcare licensing, inspections, permits, and corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with site managers to ensure classrooms, playgrounds, and facilities meet all regulatory and environmental health requirements.
- Track renewal dates, inspection schedules, and compliance deadlines for all program facilities.
- Prepare for and coordinate licensing visits, health and safety inspections, and agency monitoring reviews.
Facilities Management and Maintenance:
- Oversee the daily operation, safety, and maintenance of all agency buildings, playgrounds, grounds, and equipment.
Supervise maintenance staff, providing direction, task assignments, and performance feedback. - Coordinate facility work orders, repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Conduct regular facility and playground inspections to identify hazards or compliance issues.
- Manage service contracts and vendor relationships for maintenance, custodial, HVAC, pest control, and safety systems.
- Monitor facility budgets, equipment inventories, and purchase requests.
- Respond promptly to facility emergencies and ensure corrective action is taken.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Standards:
- Implement and monitor safety and emergency preparedness plans & policies, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and disaster planning.
- Maintain safety records, maintenance logs, and documentation of staff safety training.
- Support a culture of continuous safety awareness across the organization.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work collaboratively with program leadership, site directors, and teaching staff to support facility-related needs and licensing compliance.
- Collaborates with the Administration Dept. for tracking inventory and technology, addressing I.T. issues when needed, and fulfilling requests for equipment when needed.
- Assist with facility planning and improvement projects to enhance program quality and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with staff, families, and community partners regarding safety and compliance issues when necessary.
- Model professionalism, accountability, and commitment to the organization’s mission and values.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent driving within the service area with occasional out-of-area functions/training. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to safely lift and carry objects, often up to 50 pounds or more. Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, pushing, pulling, and reaching to access different areas of properties, buildings, machinery, and equipment for inspection and repair. Clear vision to inspect and identify potential issues. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to use tools and operate machinery.
Salary : $20 - $23
