Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Hip Hop Dance Instructor to help us take our growing Hip Hop program to the next level. They need to be able to be adaptable to multiple learning styles and motivate students of all ages. In this role, you will create dance classes that emphasize hip hop foundational skills, grooves and rhythm, while fostering a positive learning environment. A passion for dance and ability to connect with students to help cultivate confidence, teamwork, and a love for performing arts Is vital for this role. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive hip hop dance curriculum tailored to various skill levels and age groups
- Lead lively, energetic dance classes that incorporate choreography, musicality, and improvisation techniques
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for all students
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate children, youth, or adult learners with diverse needs and backgrounds
- Incorporate elements of theater, visual arts, or musical instruments into dance instruction to enhance creative expression
- Plan lessons that include warm-up exercises, technique drills, choreography sequences, and cool-down activities
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their growth in dancing skills and performance confidence
Experience
- Proven experience teaching hip hop dance or other forms of urban dance styles in a classroom or workshop setting
- Strong background in choreography, dance instruction, and performance arts with a focus on creative arts instruction
- Experience working with children or youth programs, including early childhood education or preschool settings
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques for diverse age groups
- Familiarity with theater experience, teaching visual & performing arts, or musical instruments is a plus
- Prior experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and adapting lessons for special education or inclusive classrooms
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and fellow educators to foster a positive learning environment
