The Ozark Foothills Literacy Project (OFLP) is hiring a Tutor Coordinator to build and maintain a Level 1 program in Independence County — and help replicate it across four neighboring counties (Jackson, Izard, Sharp, Stone).

You will lead an evidence-based digital literacy and workforce readiness program (administered via Burlington English) for adults who qualify for WAGE training. You’ll recruit students, train and retain volunteer career coaches, create satellite partnerships across five counties, and collect both quantitative and qualitative data that helps participants succeed and the program grow. This is a great fit for a recently retired teacher, an experienced educator, or a professional who needs a flexible schedule and enjoys community work. Training will be provided for program and software specific skills.
Key responsibilities
- Recruit students who meet criteria for the WAGE program and onboard them into Burlington English.
- Promote the program and OFLP to community stakeholders and potential students across the five counties.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteer career coaches and local site volunteers; provide regular follow-up and retention support.
- Travel to neighboring counties at least once per month to meet stakeholders, support satellite programs, and train volunteers.
- Administer, document, and report student data (quantitative and qualitative) in a timely manner.
- Create, administer, and record/report qualitative assessments and program feedback.
- Stay current on WAGE program requirements, adult education best practices, and Burlington English updates.
- Work remotely and in a variety of community settings as needed.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred; relevant work experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- Proficient with Google Workspace and basic computer tasks (email, scanning, adapting to new platforms, basic troubleshooting).
- Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and create workflows/processes.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
Ideal qualifications (not required)
- Experience with adult learners, disadvantaged populations, or non-native English speakers.
- Teaching, training, or volunteer management experience.
- Experience teaching digital literacy, workforce development knowledge, or familiarity with local hiring practices.
- Experience with TABE, LACES, Burlington English, or working with emerging readers.
- Experience collecting and analyzing program data; making presentations to stakeholders; public speaking and outreach.
