What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Architect position at Oza Studio Architects?
Oza Studio is an award-winning architecture practice on the East End of Long Island, designing highly crafted custom homes across the Hamptons. We are a small, close-knit studio, and we self-perform the build on some of our projects, which keeps our design grounded and sharp. Our project load is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Project Architect to join us in person in Bridgehampton as a right hand to the principal.
What you'll do:
- Own projects from design development through construction documents and construction administration.
- Lead permitting and approvals with town building departments, architectural review boards (e.g., Sagaponack AHRB), and the Suffolk County Health Department.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and builders.
- Coordinate interiors, finishes, and FF&E as part of delivering a complete home.
- Produce and coordinate clean, buildable drawing sets.
What we're looking for:
- 5 years of professional experience, ideally in high-end residential.
- Strong construction-documentation and detailing skills, and confidence running approvals.
- A clear, professional communicator who can carry a project independently.
- Archicad proficiency preferred; strong Revit users ready to learn Archicad are welcome.
- Hands-on construction / CA field experience is a strong plus (we self-perform some builds).
- Comfort with interiors/FF&E coordination a plus; NY license / AIA a plus, not required.
Location and work authorization:
- This is a fully on-site role in Bridgehampton, NY. You must live within 50 miles; we are not offering relocation.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. We do not provide visa sponsorship.
