Oyster Babies Early Childhood Centers is seeking to immediately hire enthusiastic, energetic educators for the full-time HEAD OF GROUP (LEAD) TEACHER & ASSISTANT TEACHER positions in our year-round INFANTS program at OYSTER BABIES in OYSTER BAY, LI.

* ASSISTANT TEACHER
Operating Hours:
MONDAYS -> FRIDAYS
7:00 AM -> 6:00 PM
The HEAD OF GROUP TEACHER (formerly known as Lead Teacher) will be responsible for the:
- Daily supervision of the children & classroom;
- Accommodating individual schedules and needs;
- Facilitating age-appropriate activities.
Qualified HEAD OF GROUP TEACHER applicants must have:
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field;
- AND, at least one (1) year experience related to caring for infants and toddlers.
- OR -
- Infants and Toddler Child Care and Education credential; or,
- Infants Toddler Child Development Associate credential; or,
- other Office-recognized credential specific to the infant/toddler developmental period;
- AND, Two (2) years experience related to caring for infants and toddlers.
- OR -
- Child Development Associate credential;
- AND, Two (2) years experience caring for children, one on which much be related to caring for infants or toddlers.
- OR -
- Nine (9) college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field with a plan of study leading to:
Infants and Toddler Child Care and Education credential; or,Infant Toddler Development Associate credential; or,Other Office-recognized credential specific to the infant/toddler developmental period; OR,Associate's Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field;
- AND, Two (2) years experience related to caring for children, one of which must be related to working with infants and toddlers.The ASSISTANT TEACHER
will assist the Head of Group Teacher in the day-to-day care of children, facilitation of activities, and general classroom maintenance.
Qualified ASSISTANT TEACHER applicants must have:
- High school diploma or equivalent; OR,
- One (1) year experience working with children less than 13 years of age.
NOTE for ALL APPLICANTS: a familiarity with Bank Street/Montessori/Reggio Emilia methodology is a plus. And, local residency is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $22.00 per hour
