What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineer (Nutrition) position at Oxygen Development?
- Adhere to cost target and routing for all new items based on preliminary routing and reordered items.
- Conduct risk assessment for new products based on formulas, package specs, and equipment.
- Optimize productivity by designing, implementing of existing capabilities, and testing new procedures.
- Conduct tooling review or and fabricate 3D printed tooling.
- Generate savings implementations through process improvements such as increased routing, or and reduced labor including through equipment automation.
- Validate electrical specs, conveyor specs, machine max speed and operational speed, compatibility with existing auxiliary equipment, location in production, plant layout, safety requirements, and country requirements.
- Review FAT, conduct IQOQ, conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) on new equipment with safety protocols.
- Document testing procedures, methodologies, or criteria. Identify items that requires trial and develop F&A process based on trial learnings including collaborations with Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, and Production.
- Work with Technical Packaging Development and or Sourcing and manufacturing for optimization new product and troubleshooting.
- Identify root cause analysis within 24 hours, provide technical requirements associated team or on customer call.
- Support production needs by participating in troubleshooting of equipment and processes and implementing solutions to prevent the same issue within 48 hours.
- Collaborate alongside the Cell Managers to validate the schedule for the upcoming week and production process related inquiries and provide alternatives to Fill and Assemble overcapacity items based on quality standard, safety, and labor cost target.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Chemical, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Food Science is a plus but not required.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 3–5 years of experience as a Process Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer in a food, beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience supporting new product introductions (NPI), including process development, trials, and production ramp-up.
- Hands-on experience with process optimization, cost reduction, labor efficiency improvements, and equipment automation.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Demonstrated experience with equipment validation and commissioning, including FAT, IQ/OQ, and safety assessments such as JHA.
- Working knowledge of food safety and quality systems (e.g., HACCP, GMPs, SQF, FDA regulations).
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, Production, and Supply Chain teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
