Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Special Education Operations & Inclusive Learning Programs, the Education Specialist – Visual Impairments provides direct instruction, assessment, and consultation services for students with visual impairments, including those who are blind or deaf-blind, up to age 22. This role supports student access to the core curriculum through specialized instruction, development of IEP goals, collaboration with staff, and the use of adaptive materials and assistive technology. The specialist also conducts assessments and teaches skills such as braille, daily living, and other individualized supports to promote student independence and academic success.
Requirements / Qualifications
