Oxford Solutions is partnering with a law firm seeking a Director of Law Firm Operations to oversee day-to-day administration, financial planning, and cross-department coordination. This high-visibility leadership role supports firm executives and ensures smooth, efficient operations across the organization. Candidates should bring a strong background in law firm administration and operational strategy.
Responsibilities
- Support the Managing Shareholder and Board of Directors with meeting preparation, strategic planning, agendas, presentations, and follow-up items
- Assist with drafting communications, maintaining shareholder and financial records, and supporting annual contribution processes
- Prepare offer materials for lateral hires and provide leadership with attorney performance data
- Serve as an administrative liaison for department chairs, helping resolve operational issues and responding to client questions when needed
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, profitability metrics, cash flow, billing, collections, and banking relationships; approve payments and monitor disbursements
- Coordinate with IT leadership on data security initiatives, application needs, technology upgrades, and helpdesk performance
- Partner with Human Resources on hiring needs, policy communication, benefit plan reviews, onboarding processes, and recommendations for salaries and bonuses
- Work with Office Services on file management, office layout planning, space utilization, and long-range facility needs; manage vendor, landlord, and consultant relationships
- Participate in Technology, Retirement, Practice Management, and Lateral Hiring committees
- Occasional travel to additional firm locations as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
- 10 to 15 years of experience in law firm administration, operations, or business management
- Strong financial planning, budgeting, and analytical skills
- Experience with contract negotiations, lease agreements, and service vendor management
- Ability to navigate organizational growth and regulatory changes
- Highly detail-oriented, adaptable, resourceful, and able to work independently
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical-thinking skills
