General Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist with preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment and systems.
- Demonstrate a willingness and desire to learn HVAC installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
- Develop hands-on experience working with and installing furnaces, air conditioning condensers, unit heaters, mini-split systems, heat pumps, and rooftop units (RTUs).
- Assist HVAC Technicians with service calls received through the automated work order system.
- Respond to changing work priorities and assignments as needed, including after-hours emergencies.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently, safely, and within established timelines and budgets while meeting client needs and expectations.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, coworkers, clients, and building occupants, adapting communication to the audience and providing information in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain an awareness of workplace safety practices and apply them consistently when performing assigned duties.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated willingness to develop knowledge and skills in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating and ventilation systems.
- Ability to work at various heights and in changing temperatures.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Valid New York State driver's license.
- Reliable personal transportation.
