What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Psychologist position at Oxford Public Schools(CT)?
Oxford High School is seeking a skilled and dedicated School Psychologist to join our academic team for the upcoming school year. We are looking for a psychologist who can engage in strong consultation and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams regarding behavior, academic learning, evaluation, and social skills. The ideal candidate will have strong crisis intervention and response planning skills with robust skills and knowledge in diverse assessments and interventions to address the needs of learnings and foster student growth within a supportive and collaborative school environment.
Key Responsibilities: (list not all inclusive)
- Facilitate 504 and PPT meetings
- Participates as a member of the SRBI team
- Conduct comprehensive student evaluations using various assessment measures appropriate to diagnostic questions.
- Conduct individual and/or group services for students.
- Administer tests and provide educational recommendations for students.
- Maintain case records including but not limited to services provided, Medicaid billing, students behavioral functioning and student progress
- Recommend behavioral and instructional interventions for students.
- Design and implement individualized educational program services according to students' needs.
- Conduct Functional behavioral assessments and design behavior intervention plans that meet student desired outcomes.
- Confer with teachers, parents, outside service providers, and administrators.
- Consult on the educational needs of students.
- Attend and participate in case conferences, planning placement team meetings, staff and professional meetings, and other relevant meetings.
- Serve as a consultant on cognitive, mental health and trauma related topics for teachers and staff.
- Interpret the school psychological evaluations and services to teachers and parents.
- Prepare and submit required reports on children and special education programs.
- Case management of students.
- Work collaboratively with community agencies
- Other duties as may be assigned and determined by administration
Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut certification (070)
- Experience at the high school level, preferred.
- Strong, effective communication, organizational, and assessment skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a professional team environment. Proactive team player.
