Oxford Adult Day Center is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and creative Activity Coordinator to help create meaningful, engaging experiences for older adults. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Adult Day Center where your ideas, creativity, and passion can make a real difference in the lives of our members.
We're looking for someone who loves bringing joy to older adults and believes that every day should be filled with purpose, connection, and fun.
This is a part-time position (20–25 hours per week) with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role as our center continues to expand.
What You'll Do
- Plan, organize, and lead engaging daily activities for older adults.
- Develop a monthly activity calendar featuring games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, gardening, educational programs, celebrations, and special events.
- Adapt activities to meet the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of members, including those living with dementia.
- Encourage participation while creating a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
- Coordinate holiday celebrations, themed events, entertainers, volunteers, and community partnerships.
- Assist with decorating the center for seasonal events and celebrations.
- Work collaboratively with the nursing team and care staff to provide meaningful, person-centered programming.
- Maintain activity schedules, attendance records, and required documentation.
- Help create an atmosphere where every member feels valued, engaged, and connected.
Qualifications
- Experience working with older adults in an Adult Day Center, senior center, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, or a similar setting is preferred.
- Activity Professional Certification (NCCAP), CTRS, or a similar credential is preferred but not required.
- Candidates with demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, and leading engaging activities for older adults are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, Human Services, Social Work, Education, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Creative, energetic, dependable, and compassionate.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
