Project Details:
Oxford's client is seeking a Principal Engineer to develop a digital twin environment for its Robotics and Enabling Technology applications. The consultant will migrate Stryker's current Mako OR simulator to NVIDIA Isaac Sim and expand the environment to support OR layout optimization, robotic system simulation, sensor simulation, and future AI model development for intra-operative use cases. Responsibilities include migrating existing simulator assets into Isaac Sim, developing robot articulation controls, integrating the simulation with ROS2, developing physics models for tool-tissue interaction, integrating sensor models, and establishing a simulation environment that can support workflow studies, system evaluation, and AI model training.
Musts:
- 8 years of relevant experience
- Strong Python programming experience
- Linux environment experience
- Robotics hardware development experience
- CAD modeling experience
- Experience with robotics or simulation environments
- Experience with physics modeling and simulation
- Exposure to simulation tools such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Gazebo, Webots, Unity, or MATLAB/Simulink
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate as a highly specialized individual contributor / technical expert
- Degree or equivalent experience
