Title: I&C Construction Manager
Location: Pine Bend, MN
Duration: 8-9 months w/possible extensions
Start Date: ASAP
Work Schedule: M-Thurs 40hrs. with potential for heavy O.T. during TA/project execution.

Project Details: The I&C Construction Manager will act as an Owner's Representative on the refinery side, serving as the field-focused interface between the engineering firm, the refinery, and construction contractors. The CM will take engineering packages from the engineering/EPC firm, review them from a constructability and field-execution standpoint, identify gaps or potential issues, and make recommendations back to Engineering to ensure the package is ready to be successfully executed in the field.
The CM will perform field walkdowns and review existing conditions against engineering packages to identify constructability concerns before work reaches the field.
This person will work closely with Engineering to resolve design and constructability issues, provide practical field recommendations, coordinate RFIs/technical questions, review revisions, and help move packages through engineering review → constructability → IFC → field execution → commissioning/turnover.
Musts:
- Heavy industrial refinery/oil & gas experience
- Strong Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and electrical background
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems
- Experience with PLC/DCS/SIS and control systems
- Ability to review and interpret engineering packages, including:
- P&IDs
- Electrical one-lines
- Loop drawings
- Wiring diagrams
- I/O lists
- Instrument data sheets
- Electrical drawings
- Significant field construction and constructability experience
- Ability to independently review engineering/EPC packages and determine whether the design can realistically be executed in the field
- Comfortable challenging engineering designs and providing practical recommendations to resolve constructability issues before construction
- Experience working in brownfield/operating refinery environments
- Experience interfacing with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Project Management, and construction contractors
- Capable of effectively operating as an Owner’s Representative
- Commissioning and startup experience
- Experience taking EPC/engineering packages through constructability review → IFC → field execution
Salary : $65 - $85
