Girls Basketball Head Coach- Middle School

Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our Middle School Girls Basketball program at Penn's Grove. The Head Coach will be responsible for developing student-athletes' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive and inclusive environment. This seasonal position requires strong leadership abilities, a commitment to student development, and a deep understanding of the game of basketball.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily practice sessions and game strategies to enhance player performance and team cohesion.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive season plan that includes skill development, conditioning, and competition preparation.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and individual player progress.
• Organize and supervise team activities, including practices, games, and tournaments.
• Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and competitions.
• Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote the overall athletic program.
• Uphold and enforce all school and league policies and regulations related to athletics.
• Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on best practices in coaching and player development.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school or high school level.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential.
• Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive team environment.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Availability for evening and weekend practices and games during the season.
• Background check clearance as required by school policy.
• A passion for mentoring and developing young athletes both on and off the court.
