Overview

As a Preschool Toddler Lead Teacher, you play a vital role in shaping early learning experiences by creating a warm, engaging, and developmentally rich classroom environment. In this leadership role, you design meaningful lesson plans, implement developmentally appropriate practices, and cultivate strong partnerships with families and colleagues. Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Planning — Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with toddler developmental stages, incorporating literacy, early intervention strategies, and Montessori-inspired methods.
  • Classroom Environment — Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating space that encourages exploration, independence, and social-emotional growth.
  • Daily Routines — Lead circle time, play-based learning, meals, and nap schedules with consistency, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
  • Family Communication — Provide ongoing updates to parents and guardians regarding developmental progress, behavior strategies, and milestones.
  • Child Welfare Compliance — Ensure adherence to mandated reporting laws, child welfare standards, and maintain accurate documentation of observations and assessments.
  • Behavior Management — Implement positive guidance techniques that promote respectful interactions, emotional regulation, and problem-solving.
  • Team Collaboration — Work closely with colleagues to plan special events, physical education activities, and age‑appropriate assessments such as standardized testing or developmental evaluations.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience working with young children in a preschool or daycare setting with a focus on toddler care
  • Strong knowledge of child development instruction, childhood development theories, and early childhood education best practices
  • Demonstrated skills in classroom management, behavior management, and lesson planning tailored to preschool learners
  • Experience integrating special education or early intervention techniques into daily activities is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
  • Valid certificates in: First aid & CPR, Basic Health & Safety, ADA, Breastfeeding, 9-hour communication.
  • Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies governing early childhood programs
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a lively and motivating classroom atmosphere

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
