Job Title: House Manager
Reports To: Board Chairman & Business Manager
Position Summary
The House Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the clubhouse, including dining and facility presentation. This role ensures that members and guests consistently receive exceptional service and that all front-of-house operations run smoothly. The House Manager serves as a visible, hands-on leader, supervising staff, coordinating with other departments, and upholding the standards and traditions of the club.
Key Responsibilities
Member & Guest Experience
- Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere for members, guests, and staff.
- Anticipate member needs and respond promptly to inquiries, requests, and concerns.
- Ensure the highest level of service is consistently delivered in all clubhouse areas.
Operations Management
- Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to ensure efficient service and quality standards.
- Monitor clubhouse appearance, cleanliness, and readiness for daily use and events.
- Enforce club policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations and member satisfaction.
Staff Supervision & Training
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise front-of-house staff.
- Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to foster a motivated, service-focused team.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate event details or operational updates to staff.
Event Coordination
- Work closely with the Events Coordinator, Food & Beverage, Chef and Kitchen teams to ensure seamless execution of club events, private functions, and member activities.
- Assist with setup, staffing, and management during events.
Administration
- Assist with scheduling, payroll, and labor cost management for front-of-house operations.
- Monitory inventory of linens, serviceware, and other clubhouse supplies. Work with the events coordinator to ensure that there is sufficient supplies for upcoming events.
- Prepare reports as requested by the Board or Business Manager.
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality or club management experience required (country club or fine dining preferred).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in POS and event management systems a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and assist with event setups as needed.
