Job Description: Oversee responsible, safe, and efficient construction operations as the senior installer on a job site. Provide direction and training to lower-level Installers, subcontractors and other Seneca personnel in the field.
What You’ll Do:
- 55%: Incident Response: Responds to calls for spill cleanup including hazardous materials. Follows company directions from the Environmental division and prescribed partners on cleanup methodology. Customer Service: Communicates effectively with customers on site in a professional, friendly, helpful manner. Ensure all Seneca employees follow site and customer policies and procedures.
- 15%: Transport HAZMAT: Transport hazardous materials and other various chemicals that may be presented to Seneca Companies for transport and be responsible for the DOT Laws applicable to such.
- 10%: May conduct fuel restoration or product containment services as needed. 10%: Safety Management: Inspect, maintain and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Ensure peers and subcontractors are protected and have the responsibility and authority to stop work being deemed unsafe. Equipment inspection, maintenance and operation: May operate large vehicles including vacuum trucks, semis and other heavy equipment. Inspect equipment before and after operation and documents deficiencies in accordance with DOT regulations and company policy. May be assigned responsibility for a single company vehicle which includes responsibilities for routine maintenance and cleaning.
- 5%: Mobile device-based administration and documentation: Utilizes mobile devices to plan, track and document job data including vehicle maintenance and operation, work order progress, personnel status and working hours. Responds to a variety of communication methods such as email, text messages, phone calls and application alerts in an appropriate time frame. Completes safety training and documentation on time.
- 5%: Other duties as assigned.
- Working Hazards: Works in an environment with potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, confined spaces, vibrations, dangerous chemical/solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes.
- Physical/Mental Exertion: Ability to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds of force on a frequent basis performing such tasks as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Licenses/Certifications: HAZWOPER 40 certification; CDL-A license with hazardous waste endorsement
- Technical Abilities: Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Able to perform manual labor, heavy equipment inspection and operation and basic administrative tasks using mobile devices.
- Autonomy/Direction: Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines from senior Technicians in the field to perform the functions of the job. Works under intermittent supervision. Primary job functions periodically require exercising independent judgment and making tactical decisions in the field without assistance. Must have the ability to travel overnight over 50%. Must have the ability to be on-call 24-7 for emergency response on a rotational basis.
