Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Maintenance Manager to join our manufacturing operations team in West Point, Mississippi. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of melting furnaces, equipment, and supporting systems. This role drives preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime, extend equipment life, and optimize production performance in a high-temperature, heavy industrial environment.
The Maintenance Manager ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and refractory systems are maintained to the highest standards, supporting consistent aluminum melt quality and operational throughput. Working closely with production and engineering teams, this position identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives, enhances equipment reliability, and manages maintenance budgets and resources effectively.
Additionally, the role promotes a strong safety culture, ensures compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements, and develops maintenance personnel through training, coaching, and performance management to support long-term operational excellence.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:
· Follow all safety rules and procedures and wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
· Operate all equipment safely and efficiently according to all plant policies and procedures.
· Conduct incident investigations for all injuries and near misses, regardless of severity.
· Follow and enforce safe work practices and procedures.
· Ensure the safe use of equipment and take defective equipment out of service.
· Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with co-workers, managers, and contractors.
· Ensure or make appropriate requests for the availability of resources needed for the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the ISO’s management systems.
· Foster a spirit of team unity, cooperation, and alignment of process and people with the purpose – To delight our customers with the highest quality and best service in the industry, without exception.
· Conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of team members.
· Maintain and update operating and training materials for team members.
· Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implement change.
· Resolve personnel problems in conjunction with Human Resources by analyzing situations; investigate issues; identify solutions; recommend action.
· Coordinates the preventative maintenance programs required by local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
· Supervise and assign work for maintenance employees, inspect work for completeness.
· Coordinate, inspect, repair, and maintain the electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and other related systems.
· Coordinate and inspect major contract work on the electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and other related systems.
· Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety requirements.
· Drive continuous improvement efforts by analyzing data, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing best practices to optimize plant operations and promote sustainable practices.
· Assess the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors.
· Recommend projects for annual work plans and ensure all preventive maintenance is performed.
· Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; review professional publications; establish personal networks.
· Work as part of the team to achieve company goals.
· Perform all other work as assigned.

Education:
Required- College degree in engineering
Preferred- MBA
Experience:
Required- 5 years in a comparable position of responsibility.
Preferred- 5 to 7 years of experience in general maintenance and some experience in operations.
