RN or LPN - Cardiac Practice

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Plan, direct, or coordinate medical and health services within Owensboro Medical Practice. Responsible for direct and indirect patient care under the directions of the physicians, physician's assistants, nurse practitioners. Responsible for ensuring efficient patient services by assisting the provider staff, complying with established policies and procedures, OSHA policies and compliance, and CLIA compliance. Assures patient and office confidentiality. Performs other medical duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Oversees nursing care essential to the assessment, promotion, maintenance and restoration of patients' health and wellness.
• Conducts nurse visits with patients
• Responds to patient questions
• Coordinates referrals
• Assists with FMLA, job return paperwork
• Maintains patient confidentiality
• Charting through the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR).

EXPERIENCE: Prefer previous experience in a cardiac setting.

LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: State RN or LPN license.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of current nursing practices and new nursing practices and medical advances.
• Application of the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing
• Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, medicinal preparations, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
1. Requires sitting, standing, and walking for extensive periods of time.
2. Consistent use of computer including viewing screens and typing.
3. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
4. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
5. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing.
6. Requires working under stress in emergency situations or during irregular hours.'
