What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guidance Counselor position at Owensboro Catholic Schools?
Owensboro Catholic Schools is seeking a full-time Guidance Counselor at the 4-6 Campus. The Guidance Counselor will serve as a resource for teachers, students, and parents in dealing with emotional, behavioral, or psychological issues that impact learning and/or the classroom environment. In addition to providing counseling for individual students and small groups of students, the Guidance Counselor will also plan and teach classroom guidance lessons. The Guidance Counselor may assist with planning student programs, community service projects, and teacher activities.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in school counseling or a related field and teaching certificate preferred
- Prefer a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
- Have a passion for working with students
- Self-motivated and able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues in a professional and positive manner
- Function as a cooperative, productive team member with a Christ-like attitude
- Support and uphold the philosophy and mission of the Catholic Church and the Owensboro Catholic School System
- Respond to immediate student crises and safety concerns of students with confidentiality and intervention strategies
