Project Manager – Drywall Construction
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial drywall and interior construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, client relationships, procurement, and field coordination to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
This role requires strong knowledge of drywall systems, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, taping/finishing, and interior fit-out construction across commercial, healthcare, hospitality, multifamily, and institutional projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple drywall and interior construction projects simultaneously
- Oversee all phases of projects including estimating handoff, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution, and closeout
- Coordinate with General Contractors, owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, manpower projections, and cost reports
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Track project costs and maintain profitability throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with clients and field teams
- Work closely with Superintendents to monitor site progress, safety, quality, and productivity
- Negotiate vendor and subcontractor pricing and manage material procurement
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with contract documents and company standards
- Identify and resolve project issues proactively to avoid delays or cost overruns
- Manage project billing, collections, and financial reporting
- Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships
Qualifications
- 5 years of Project Management experience within drywall/interior construction
- Strong understanding of:
- Metal stud framing
- Drywall systems
- Acoustical ceilings
- EIFS/plaster (preferred)
- Interior finishes
- Experience managing commercial construction projects ranging from tenant fit-outs to large-scale ground-up developments
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling software
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience managing budgets, change orders, and project financials
- OSHA certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
