Mechanical Project Engineer

Seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for one of our top clients based in NYC. You will work on a variety of projects operating in a position of both production and project management.

Responsibilities -

• Support mechanical design for commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects
• Prepare HVAC load calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections
• Develop drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Perform field surveys and site assessments to verify existing conditions
• Coordinate designs with architectural, electrical, structural, and specialty teams
• Assist in developing project schedules and tracking deliverables
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs during construction
• Participate in client meetings and project coordination sessions
• Support QA/QC reviews to ensure code compliance and design accuracy

Qualifications -

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 3–7 years of experience in HVAC/mechanical building systems design
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit; experience with load calculation software
• Understanding of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and local NYC requirements
• Ability to produce detailed mechanical plans and documentation
• Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams
• Experience supporting construction administration tasks (RFIs, submittals, site visits)
• EIT or progress toward PE licensure preferred
