- High School Degree required; **Associate's Degree or at least 2 years of college credit preferred.**
- Effective interpersonal skills, positive attitude and a desire to work with children.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Computer literate, including a working knowledge of email use and word processing software.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Submission of PA School Personnel Health form.
- Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.
- Assist the classroom teacher with implementation of individual and group instruction, testing and assessment procedures.
- Assist the classroom teacher in the care and management of students in the classroom and other areas, such as special subject areas, lunch room, playground, and bus duty.
- Assist the classroom teacher by preparing instructional and classroom materials.
- Assist the classroom teacher by performing duties required to optimize instruction.
- Assist students by reading questions, passages from text and tests following teacher's instructions.
- Assist with collection of data relevant to students' needs (academic, behavioral, functional skills).
- Maintain accurate student data and records, as well as communication with the case manager.
- **Assist skills related to personal and social self-sufficiency, which may include but is not limited to, toileting, feeding, personal hygiene. **
- Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the facilitator and classroom teachers.
- **Support students with emotional or behavior concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills.**
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for the students and monitor their progress.
