Responsibilities
- Operate loaders, excavators, dump trucks, water trucks, and other heavy machinery to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently within the yard.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and adherence to equipment safety procedures.
- Assist with construction utility work such as utility locating, excavation, grading, and horizontal drilling to support ongoing project needs.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and safety inspections in compliance with federal construction safety regulations.
- Support construction site operations by coordinating the delivery and pickup of materials using commercial trucks like tanker trucks or paving equipment.
- Follow all safety regulations diligently, including OSHA standards for heavy equipment operation and general construction site safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the yard remains organized, clean, and compliant with all safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as loaders, excavators, bulldozers, or similar equipment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving and hauling heavy loads.
- Mechanical knowledge for routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Familiarity with construction utility work including utility locating and excavation techniques.
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Strong understanding of construction grading, paving operations, and horizontal drilling processes is preferred.
- Prior experience working on construction sites with a focus on utility work or heavy equipment operation is highly desirable.
