Precision Is Your Craft. We'll Give You the Platform to Master It.
At Owen Metals Group, we hold ourselves to exacting standards — and we need a Press Brake Operator who holds themselves to the same ones. If you can set up and run a press brake to tight tolerances, read a blueprint like second nature, and take genuine pride in parts that come out right the first time, you'll fit in well here.
This is a 4-day work week on 2nd shift — meaning you earn a shift differential on top of your base pay and still get your Fridays free every week.
The Details
- Starting pay: $21.00–$23.00/hr depending on experience
- Shift differential: $2.00/hr — bringing your effective rate to $23–$25/hr
- Hours: Mon–Thu, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM
- Schedule: 4-day work week — Fridays always off
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate hydraulic press brakes according to customer requirements and job specs
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T symbols to understand part geometry and tolerances
- Achieve bend accuracy to tolerances of ±0.005" or tighter using calibrated measuring tools
- Use precision instruments including digital calipers, micrometers, protractors, and angle gauges with confidence and accuracy
- Perform in-process quality checks and document and report any deviations from spec
- Make real-time adjustments to tooling, back gauges, and bend sequences to maintain part accuracy
- Select appropriate tooling, dies, and punch profiles for each job
- Assist with part packaging and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Support continuous improvement efforts and flag process issues proactively
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on press brake operating experience — more is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to measure to 0.001" with digital calipers and hold angle accuracy within 0.5°
- Comfortable setting up jobs independently, including back gauge programming and tooling selection
- Familiarity with hydraulic press or punch operations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills and unwavering attention to detail
- Reliable team player with a proactive attitude who doesn't need to be micromanaged
- Available and committed to a consistent 2nd shift, 4-day schedule
