JOB DESCRIPTION: STUDENT WORKER

JOB CLASS CODE: 7788

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must maintain good attendance at school

2. Student Worker must maintain a passing level in all classes

3. Shall be friendly and courteous at all times

4. Must be attentive, supportive, kind and positive with the children at all times

REPORTS TO: Immediate Supervisor

JOB GOAL: To gain valuable work experience, develop essential skills such as communication, teamwork, and time management, and contribute positively to the success of Owen County schools while balancing academic commitments.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Being detail-oriented and completing tasks promptly
• Being comfortable in unfamiliar situations and taking on challenging assignments
• Having good communication skills, both oral and written
• Being able to carry out instructions
• Being able to perform essential functions safely and following safety regulations
• Being self-motivated and finding motivation during stressful times
• Being supportive of student success, respecting FERPA, and maintaining files
• Other duties as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly rate set annually by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s Policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
