Position Summary
The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing daily shop operations and supervising service technicians to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality repairs, and a safe working environment. This role serves as the technical leader in the shop, assisting with complex diagnostics and repairs while coordinating work assignments and priorities. The Lead Shop Foreman acts as a key liaison between technicians, service advisors, and management to ensure repairs are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Shop Operations & Workflow

Assign and prioritize repair orders to technicians based on skill level, workload, and shop capacity.

Monitor shop productivity and workflow to ensure timely completion of repairs.

Coordinate with service advisors to ensure clear communication of repair timelines and technical needs.

Ensure proper documentation of repairs, parts usage, and labor hours.
Technical Leadership

Provide technical guidance and support to technicians on complex diagnostics and repairs.

Assist with troubleshooting difficult mechanical or electrical issues when needed.

Review completed repairs to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to company standards.

Promote best practices in diagnostics, repair procedures, and equipment use.
Team Development

Qualifications

Extensive experience as a service technician in a mechanical or service shop environment.
