Position Summary
The Director – Used Equipment Sales is responsible for the sales of our USED and stock fleet. Developing, managing, and growing relationships with customers across the country. Working with the E-commerce team to drive a strong digital presence and auction model. This role focuses on driving revenue through the strategic sale of used heavy equipment, aligning inventory with customer needs, and delivering tailored solutions that maximize value for both the customer and the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to drive used equipment sales growth across assigned territories or accounts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with ATM’s and key decision-makers at fleet owners, contractors, rental companies, and industrial clients
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate used equipment solutions, including sourcing and matching inventory
- Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, quoting, negotiation, closing, and post-sale follow-up.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and competitor activity to position offerings effectively
- Coordinate equipment inspections, appraisals, and trade-in evaluations as needed
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and account plans
- Travel regularly to customer sites, industry events, and company locations
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of experience in heavy equipment sales, preferably with a focus on used equipment or national accounts
- Proven track record of managing large accounts and achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment categories (construction, earthmoving, mining, or similar)
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a large geographic territory
Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
