Position Summary
Ovid Community Church is seeking a full-time Worship Pastor to lead our contemporary worship ministry while honoring our church’s heritage with hymns as appropriate.
This position requires a spiritually mature leader with strong musical ability, technical proficiency, and a passion for helping people encounter Jesus through authentic worship. The Worship Pastor will disciple and develop musicians, oversee all worship and production ministries, and lead with humility, creativity, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and plan Sunday worship gatherings with a blend of contemporary music and traditional hymns.
- Recruit, train, and disciple worship team members and technical volunteers.
- Oversee sound, media, lighting, livestream, and stage design.
- Manage ProPresenter, Planning Center, and other technical tools used in worship.
- Plan and lead special services (Christmas, Easter, and church-wide events).
- Collaborate with pastoral staff to ensure worship aligns with the mission and vision of the church.
- Provide care, encouragement, and discipleship for the worship and tech teams.
- Maintain and steward worship ministry equipment and resources.
Qualifications
- A growing and mature relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Proven experience leading congregational worship in a contemporary setting.
- Strong vocal and/or instrumental ability.
- Proficiency with ProPresenter, Planning Center, sound systems, livestream technology, and lighting.
- Basic knowledge of video production and editing (preferred).
- Skilled in team building, communication, and conflict resolution.
- Emotionally aware, humble, hungry to learn, and relationally wise (“people smart”).
- Bachelor’s degree in ministry, music, or a related field (preferred).
- Prior experience in church ministry leadership (preferred).
