You’ll translate customer requirements into executable plans, coordinate schedules, and support the shop floor with hands‑on follow‑through. A strong machining background lets you interpret prints, CAD data, and technical specs while partnering closely with engineering, operations, and quality.
A Day in the Life
- Start by reviewing customer inquiries and requests: prepare accurate quotes and process ECNs, CCRs, POs, and order acknowledgments.
- Meet with the Engineering Assistant to confirm job setups, order materials, and clarify prints, designs, and 3D/CAD details.
- Build complete digital/physical job folders with all prints, paperwork, certifications, 3D models, and CAD data for traceability.
- Issue requisitions for materials, supplies, and tooling to keep production moving.
- Coordinate design activities as needed to support project objectives.
- Partner with the Operations Manager and Division Manager to plan deliveries, balance shop floor load, and release jobs to production.
- Walk the floor to monitor progress, offer hands‑on support, and remove barriers to on‑time completion.
- Track completeness, profitability, and risks; communicate status with operations stakeholders.
- Develop opportunities within existing accounts; assist outside sales via quoting, application engineering, and customer visits.
- Help organize the shop for efficiency, safety, and consistent workflow.
- Collaborate with the Quality Management Representative (QMR) to maintain ISO compliance.
- Coordinate work across internal divisions and with external vendors for smooth integration.
- Education: High school diploma required; Engineering degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Experience: 3 years in manufacturing or an engineering environment.
- Skills: Strong machining foundation; ability to read/interpret prints and CAD; comfort with building job folders and documentation; quoting and order processing (ECNs/CCRs/POs); production scheduling and floor oversight; clear communication; organization; collaboration; ISO awareness.
